Danielle Horton, Director of Marketing at Urban Produce
Danielle Horton is the Director of Marketing for Urban Produce, LLC, a grower of organic micro greens and creator of the High Density Vertical Growing System (HDVGS), which has been developed as a sustainable alternative to traditional agriculture, utilizing advanced hydroponic technologies in a controlled environment. Danielle graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2012 with a degree in Agricultural Business. She immersed herself into the produce industry during her junior and senior year of college by attending the Produce Marketing Association worldwide Produce show in Atlanta Georgia as a scholarship winner for the PMA Foundations program. She has her father’s entrepreneurial gene and is grateful to God every day for the opportunities he has presented, especially with Urban Produce. She has started a grass roots movement to push their organic, locally grown living microgreens into restaurants throughout Orange County educating on how living produce is just as important as organic or locally grown. By providing restaurants with a living product, chefs are able to cut and plate the exact amount of product needed all while providing their customers with the absolute freshest produce possible while also minimizing food waste & spoilage. Danielle is eager to see Urban Produce grow and expand, offering live, locally grown, organic produce to urban cities nationwide.
“In today’s day and age everyone should have access to a variety of fresh produce year-round, and I am beyond blessed and excited to have the opportunity with Urban Produce to do so.” ~ Danielle Horton
